1. Objectives and Commitment
Our company is committed to protecting the environment and minimising the negative impact of our business activities on the environment. This policy sets out how, as a responsible company, we fulfil our environmental commitments and promote a sustainable future. We are committed to complying with the requirements of the EcoVadis rating and strive for continuous improvement in environmental matters, even if these are only small steps. Every contribution counts, and we encourage all staff to play an active part in these efforts so that, together, we can make a positive impact.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all departments and staff at CASCOO Europe GmbH. All activities and decisions must be in line with our environmental objectives.
3. Strategies to promote sustainability and energy efficiency
3.1. Energy-efficient working practices
Objective: By the end of 2026, all employees are to be trained in energy-efficient working practices to raise awareness of the impact of our energy consumption.
Measures: Each department will receive practical training materials listing simple, everyday measures such as switching off lights, computers and other equipment outside working hours. Each employee will also receive an information guide with clear instructions on saving energy in their day-to-day work (e.g. ‘Lights off, PC off’).
Measuring success: The training participation rate will be reviewed annually, with the aim of achieving a 90 per cent participation rate by the end of 2026. The departments’ energy consumption will be analysed following the training to measure its success.
3.2. Reducing paper consumption
Objective: To reduce paper consumption per employee by 10 per cent by the end of 2026.
Measures: Introducing a digital document management system, making double-sided printing the standard, and encouraging the use of electronic notes.
Measuring success: Monitoring annual paper consumption and comparing it with the base year of 2025.
3.3. Promoting car-sharing
Objective: To reduce CO₂ emissions from commuting by 5% by the end of 2026.
Measures: Create active incentives for car-sharing, e.g. by facilitating arrangements among staff who live in similar areas. In addition, subsidies could be offered for environmentally friendly commuting options such as bicycle subscriptions.
Measuring success: The use of car-sharing is monitored through annual surveys and the analysis of car park usage.
3.4. Switch to digital invoicing
Objective: By the end of 2026, 75 per cent of invoices are to be issued and sent digitally.
Measures: Implementation of a digital invoicing management system and training of staff in its use.
Measuring success: Monitoring the number of digital invoices sent compared to paper invoices.
3.5. Office plants
Objective: To promote a greener office environment by introducing plants by the end of 2025.
Measures: Purchasing office plants that improve air quality and enhance well-being.
Measuring success: Staff feedback on the office atmosphere before and after the introduction of plants.
3.6. Energy-efficient office equipment
Objective: To use energy-efficient equipment.
Measures: When making new purchases, check the energy label (e.g. A or equivalent) and gradually replace old equipment.
Measuring success: Documentation of electricity consumption before and after the changeover.
